Water Quality Data

[ KWQID | Stream Awareness Survey ]

Water quality data can be difficult to understand. Long tables of numbers don't clearly answer the question "Is the water safe for me to swim in?"

The KWQID automatically compares water quality data with Hawaii's water quality standards, using simple icons to show whether or not the water is "safe".

The KBAC Awareness Survey has been designed as a basic tool for use by school children, community residents, and others interested in streams and improving water quality in our Ko‘olaupoko watershed.

The results of the survey provide a snap shot of a stream's conditions and can be used to identify water quality problems and steer future restoration efforts.
