(Printable version of this page)

Purpose of the site: The Virtual Ko‘olaupoko website was conceived by the Kailua Bay Advisory Council as a means of connecting the people working within the region with the geographical and water quality data affecting them.

Pop-up Window:
The information displayed in this window depends on what tool you are using (see tools below).

Watch out! This window may “pop-up” underneath you main page.

Selection Tools ( & )

Identify All Tool ()

Query (), Find (), Set Units (), Buffer () & Print ()Tools
Display a series of fields/boxes that must be filled in to complete the request.

Layerlist/Legend Window:
This window provides information about the data shown on the map. It can be toggled between a Layerlist and a Legend by pressing the key. The Layerlist displays all of the available layers and is shown by default. The Legend shows how the different data is represented on the map.

When the Layerlist is displayed, 2 columns of “radio buttons” are available. The Visible column controls whether or not a layer is displayed, and the Active column determines which layer you obtain additional information from. You make all of the layers Visible simultaneously, but only one layer can be “Active” at a time.

The following tools will only work on the active layer: Select ( & ), Find (), Query() and Buffer ().

  • Manipulating the map image on the screen (i.e.,, &);
  • Changing aspects of the display and printing (i.e. , , , & );
  • Accessing additional information about a feature (i.e. & ) ;
  • Selecting (and deselecting) features for further analysis (i.e. , & )
  • Performing customized manipulations of the data (i.e. , & ).
