Hui Mālama o ke Kai (HMK), a non-profit organization, is working with youth to demonstrate organic farming practices that can reduce chemical runoff at the University of Hawai‘i's experimental station in Waimanalo. Using workshops for the Waimānalo community, HMK will teach farming methods that reduce pollution in streams. HMK workshops include organic gardening, prevention of soil erosion, and learning the value of organic gardening practices. |
| HMK co-sponsored another KBAC project, the Keiki Water Festival, in November 2002 at the Waimānalo Recreation Center. | |
