"The Adventures of Waterwoman in Ko‘olaupoko"

Download the coloring book developed by the Healthy Hawai‘i Coalition.

Healthy Hawai‘i Coalition (HHC) has developed a "Ko‘olaupoko Experience" curriculum for the elementary schools in the region aimed at reducing pollution and encouraging watershed protection. HHC has presented the program to students at Waiāhole, Enchanted Lakes, Lanikai and Mōkapu Elementary Schools as well as the Windward YMCA. HHC delivers its message in the classrooms using a skit "The Adventures of Waterwoman" and handing out an educational coloring book about the Ko‘olaupoko watershed and water pollution.

As part of the program, HHC also conducts field trips with the students where they participate in such activities as water testing and beach clean ups. Teaching future generations the value of clean water is the key to improving and sustaining it. HHC has a full schedule of classes planned for the coming school year.
